I was looking for a new mouthpiece for a refurbished eefer with which I was having some adjustment issues.  I stumbled across Lisa’s Clarinet Shop, and looking led the site because it had a Chat feature. The chat couldn’t help me, but I called and left a message, and within 10 minutes I was speaking with the knowledgeable, helpful owner of the business. I didn’t feel rushed or foolish for my questions, and she went out of her way to help me find a good mouthpiece fit for my needs, sending 4 for me to try. We just bought our daughter's first step up instrument from Lisa's Clarinet Shop. As someone completely unfamiliar with the process and living out of state, it was a daunting process for us to be sure. We wanted to find a high quality instrument that was a great fit for my daughter, but without having to buy a clarinet sight unseen. Lisa truly made it so simple - we spoke over the phone, then set up a zoom call with my daughter and her teacher to get to know her needs and playing style better, after which Lisa thoughtfully selected several clarinets and mouthpieces for her to try. A few days later they were on our doorstep! After trying them all out with her teacher, she found a terrific fit. It gave me such peace of mind for my daughter to be able to play and evaluate each instrument with her teacher before committing to a purchase, even though we are out of state. Lisa was absolutely fantastic through my journey getting a clarinet. She was on the phone with me multiple times with no rush in her voice, sometimes for 30 minutes! She explained everything perfectly and even sent videos of the setup that she thought would be best for me! I had a great experience today at Lisa's Clarinet Shop! The repairman explained clearly and well about the state of my ancient clarinet. It was more than what I got from two Quad City music repairmen. I was ready to buy a new-to-me clarinet and Lisa found the perfect one in my price range. It sounds beautiful! This would be my second instrument I've purchased at Lisa's Clarinet Shop.  The first time was about five years ago when I needed a big step up from a cheap A clarinet I had bought elsewhere, and Lisa guided me to the beautiful Tosca I have today. Today, I realized my 35 year-old Bb Buffet R13 that has been my main instrument, was near the end of its days as a professional level instrument that I could rely on and was ready for an upgrade, too.  Where to begin?  I reviewed my options on-line different Buffet line-ups and in the end, really needed someone to again consult with to choose the right instrument for my needs. Lisa allowed me to try out a few different instruments that I was aiming for, and really understand the differences between them, and comparing against my old Bb, and then compared to the A I had purchased years ago. I have nothing but positive things to say about Lisa’s Clarinet Shop!  My daughter needed an A clarinet.  We live in a rural area and the only music shop in town doesn’t carry A clarinets.  The nearest shops that carry A clarinets (3-4 hours away) had a limited selection in stock so we were hesitant to make the drive and not find a good match for her. While searching for alternatives, we discovered Lisa’s Clarinet Shop.  We liked the idea of doing a trial of 3 clarinets at home (especially because my daughter’s clarinet instructor could be a part of the evaluation process) but were a little hesitant to call at first.  We have never purchased an instrument this way before and we were a little unsure about how it would all work out. We decided to take a chance and give Lisa’s shop a call and are so glad that we did!  From the minute we were connected with one of Lisa’s ambassadors, Zac, we knew that we were in good hands.  Zac spent a lot of time getting details about my daughter’s needs and explaining the clarinet trial process.  I  am not a musician so I was very appreciative that Zac explained the musical aspects of the clarinet selection process in a way that was easy for me to understand.  He was very knowledgeable and also patient with the questions we had along the way. Lisa sent 3 clarinets based on Zac’s assessment of which ones might be a good fit for her.  My daughter was thrilled that one of those 3 clarinets was a perfect fit for her! As far as shipping, our communications with Sam regarding shipping were terrific too.
